  • Yes! If you are interested in hosting more than two apprentices during a 6-month cohort, you can indicate this on the interest form or email kaity@sccodes.org

  • Apprentices will begin the cohort with three weeks of dedicated “classroom” time. This time will be spent preparing them for their on-the-job training, as well as giving them a strong foundation for their personal projects which will be built throughout their program.

After those front-loaded three weeks, the schedule is as follows:

Monday & Fridays: Develop Carolina classroom days

    Tues- Thurs: On-the-job training days

  • Yes! The benefits of participating as a host company for Develop Carolina are multi-faceted. Host companies will be listed in any and all promotional materials or press outreach about this program – which is the first of its kind in our state.

Beyond external publicity and validation, host companies will be provided with a blueprint for mentorship that can be used well beyond the scope of this apprenticeship, including expectations and outcomes for future entry-level hires. Our intention is that host companies will begin to develop a culture of mentorship and an openness to hiring and training junior talent in a way that is mutually beneficial - to the individual, the company and to our tech ecosystem at large.

Plus, host companies will get the benefit of access to great new talent!
